Why We Needed a Canvas Firepit Bag
Anyone that owns a portable folding firepit knows that the supplied bags, no matter the brand, are not the best quality. The bag that came with our folding firepit had several issues. After six months of use our bag had a few holes in it from where the stainless steel rubbed while driving rough corrugated roads. We also did not like how our bag sealed. It basically had two Velcro pieces to close the top of the bag meaning parts of the firepit could protrude if there was any movement in our Cruiser or trailer. This would then cause the firepit to rub up against other bits of gear causing unnecessary damage. The webbing for the handles was also poor quality. This webbing was stitched at the top of the bag only and with the weight of the firepit, the stitching was starting to come loose. As a result, we decided to replace this bag with something far better made that would protect both our firepit and the rest of our gear.
Quality Canvas Bag
The Underkover Australia folding firepit canvas bag is a top-quality storage option for the folding firepit. This bag is extremely well made like all the other Underkover Australia canvas bags we use. The first thing we noticed with this bag is the look of it. Scotty and Ben have done an awesome job with the design and colour choices. Not that looks are the most important part, but they have gone above and beyond with this bag. The chocolate and grey coloured canvas looks amazing with the signature Underkover orange tab to easily open the top of the bag.
Australian Made Materials
Looks aside, the Underkover Australia canvas firepit bag has Australian made black webbing that is used for the handles. The webbing for the handles is stitched all the way down the sides of the bag providing extra strength and longevity. These handles will not have any issues when carrying the bag especially over longer periods of time. This canvas firepit bag has been made big enough to fit the large folding firepit, the ash tray or base, cooking grill, and cast-iron insert. We only have the medium size folding firepit so this bag is a bit bigger than what we need, however it does mean we can store a few boxes of firelighters and other things if needed. The bag is sealed by a canvas fold with Velcro (hook and loop) across the top of the bag. This closes the bag securely so we do not have the same issues we had previously where the firepit could protrude from the original bag and damage our other gear. All the edges of the canvas are secured with Australian made binding that gives the bag a good quality finish.
Superior Storage at a Great Price
Overall, the Underkover Australia folding firepit canvas bag is an extremely well-made Australian canvas bag and a fantastic upgrade to the poor-quality storage bags that come with these folding firepits. We have used our Underkover Australia folding firepit canvas bag for six months and in that time done a couple of long trips (over 10,000kms) and had no issues. We have driven for long periods over rough corrugated roads and have not seen any wear and tear from all the vibrations inside the canvas bag. Compared to our previous bag that came with the firepit, this bag had numerous holes after six months with similar distances and roads travelled.
